PEGGY WOLF: COLLAGES ILLUSTRATIONS

Uno de mis últimos descubrimientos ilustrativos ha sido esta artista Alemana afincada en Londres, que consigue estas preciosas ilustraciones a través de la mezcla dos de mis grandes pasiones artísticas: La pintura y el collage.

PEGGY WOLF comenzó a interesarse por esta rama artística durante sus estudios de Diseño de Moda. Tras este periodo, decidió en 2006 mudarse a Londres donde comenzó a trabajar como diseñadora de Cartas Postales para Boss Print e Ilustradora para Spiderlilly y la revista Ameera.

Tal y como podeís observar, sus ilustraciones están llenas de un refrescante amor por los colores, las formas y las composiciones; de bellas damas maquilladas en tonos pastel y vestidas en un estilo gráfico; de eclecticismo y dinamismo; de fuerza, pero también de sutileza; de amor por la mujer y sus formas; y de respeto por la naturaleza y la vida...

One of my latest illustrative discoveries has been this German -born, London-based artist who achieves these lovely illustrations by the mixture of two of my biggest artistic passions: Painting & Collage.

PEGGY WOLF began getting interested in this artistic field during her studies in Fashion Design. After this period, she decided in 2006 to move to London and has since worked on Post Card Designs for Boss Print, Illustrations for Spiderlilly, and the Magazine Ameera.

As you can observe, her illustrations are full of her refreshing love of colours, shapes and compositions; full of beautiful ladies maked up in a soft pallete and dressed up in a graphic style; full of eclecticism and dynamism, of strength, but also of subtlety; full of love for a woman and her shape; and of respect for nature and life.

EL ESTUDIO DE DANIELA KAMILIOTIS: PURA Y DELICIOSA ANARQUÍA

De vuelta de mis breves y soleados días en el Ampurdán, vuelvo para soñar con algún día poder tener un estudio como el de esta gran artista: DANIELA KAMILIOTIS. Ella es además de diseñadora de decorados y vestuario para obras de teatro, la vicepresidenta de las colecciones de moda femenina de Ralph Lauren.

No hay mucho que explicar, simplemente ADMIRAR...

Admiro ese desorden ordenado, la belleza que emana de cada uno de los rincones de este lugar y las hortensias que se esconden tras miles de objetos creyendo no ser vistas. Admiro la historia que existe tras cada prenda y zapato, y que ellos mismos desean contarnos, los cientos de recortes que le sirven de inspiración y los miles de libros que pueblan sus estanterias; así como sus maravillosas (y por mí codiciadas) colecciones de retales de telas, lazos, piedras y cristales rotos que parecen sacados de su pequeño baúl de los recuerdos para que por nosotros acaben siendo encontrados y venerados. No puedo más que admirar las salvajes y delicadas plumas a la espera de su próximo destino, sus llamativas y excéntricas piezas de joyería o sus bellas pero fuertes ilustraciones de cuerpos femeninos desnudos... Admiro a ella y su curiosidad por las cosas y por la vida...

Os invito a entrar en su mundo de sueños y a que soñemos despiertos!!

Back from my short but sunny days in The Ampurdán, I´ve comed back just to dream about one day being able to have a studio as the one that the great artist named DANIELA KAMILIOTIS has. Besides being a set & costume designer, as well as a fine artist, she is the vicepresident of Ralph Lauren´s women collection.

There´s not so much to explain, just ADMIRE...

I admire that tidy untidiness, the beauty that comes from each small corner of this place, and the hydrangeas that hide behind the multiple objects there are, believing not be seen. I also admire the story and history beside each antique garment and shoe, and that they are trying to relate ourselves, the hundreds of magazine cuttings that inspire her and the thousand of books that settle the shelves; as well as the marvellous (and coveted from me) collections of pieces of fabrics, ribbons, stones and broken glasses that seem to have been taken out from her small memories´box so that they ´d end up being found and revered by us. I can´t admire more all the wild but delicate feathers waiting for their next use, her bold and excentric jewlery, or her fine but strong nude illustrations... I admire her and her curiosity for things and life...

FASHION EDITORIAL MARIE CLAIRE ITALIA Junio 2010

Ayer fue la mágica noche de San Juan, fuegos artificiales, hogueras, deseos pedidos, deseos por cumplir... noches en vela, mañanas despejadas, cielo estrellado, sol brillante... y todo esto bajo el maravilloso paisaje de la Costa Brava. Mientras disfruto de mi última día de mar y montaña, os dejo con esta preciosa editorial llena de magia, luces y sombras, delicadas bailarinas de ballet y ágiles mariposas.

Yesterday has been the magic night of San Juan, fireworks, bonfires, ordered wishes, wishes to fulfill... sleepless nights, cloudless mornings, starry sky, bright sun... and all this under the marvellous landscape of the Costa Brava. While I´m having fun in my last day of sea and mountains, I leave you with thbis fashion editorial full of magic, lights and shadows, delicate ballerinas and agile butterflies.
