Además del Arte en general, y la Moda en particular, otro de mis hobbies favoritos es la Decoración. Me encanta descubrir casas con encanto, que tengan un toque vintage y sobre todo, que se note que están vividas. Me gusta ese aire de orden desordenado que tienen; el que los objetos decorativos estén colocados según los sentimientos y no según las reglas que alguien dicta; y que "a pesar de" toda la mezcla habida y por haber entre lo moderno y lo antiguo, unos estampados y otros, colores intensos y claros, o entre objetos de diseño y kitsch; exista una ARMONÍA especial que sólo unos pocos pueden ver y que yo os voy a descubrir...
As well as Art in general, and Fashion in particular, another favourite hobbie of mine is Decoration. I love discovering houses with charm, that have a vintage touch and above all, you have to feel that they are alive. I like that untidy tidiness that they have; the way the decorative objects are placed according to the feelings and not to the rules tha somebody dictates; and that despite all the Mix & Match there is and will also be between the modern and the vintage, some prints and others, intense colors and light ones, or between design objects and kitsch ones; there exists a special HARMONY that only a few can see, but that I am pleased to discover you...

La dueña de este precioso loft londinense lleno de personalidad y encanto es la estilista británica Emily Chalmers, quien ha conseguido junto con su marido Chris Richmond, que siempre en él sea primavera, gracias a la multitud de flores que ahí habitan.
El hogar, que este matrimonio montó en 2001 y que se encuentra en un edificio victoriano, antes había albergado las oficinas de una antigua central de taxis; pero la propietaria consiguió otorgarle una nueva vida mediante su sello personal. Pensó en las FLORES como principal elemento decorativo, y en la MEZCLA DE ESTILOS como filosofía. Su única norma: Coloca las cosas juntas y ve qué ocurre... ¿Te gusta? Déjalo! , ¿No? The owner of this beautiful London loft full of personality and charm, is the british stylist Emily Chalmers, who has achieved together with her husband Chris Richmond, that at home will always be spring, thanks to thousands of flowers that there live in.
The house, which this marriage had put up in 2001 and that it´s settled in a victorian building, accommodated before the offices of an old taxis station; but the owner managed to give it a new life by means of her personal mark. She thought about FLOWERS as the main decorative element, and about the MIXTURE OF DIFFERENT STYLES as a philosophy. Emily only has one rule: Place things together and see what it happens... Do you fancy it? Leave it!, Not? Try it again!.

Multitud de telas que consigue en el Mercado de las Pulgas de París, y con los que posteriormente cose los cojines que pueblan cada rincón de la casa. ¿Qué ocurre si se le agota el material? Que los confecciona mediante la técnica artesanal del Patchwork. ¿Ingenioso, no?
Es importante RECICLAR.
Loads of fabrics that she usually obtains in the Marchè aux Puces, and which she uses them later for sewing the cushions that are in every corner of the house. What happens if all the materials run out?. She makes them through the handmade thechnique named Patchwork. Ingenious, or not? The important thing is to RECYCLE. 
Quien no tenga un bonito y amplio vestidor (como ella y, of course, como yo...) puede aplicar este truco: Coger las prendas más bonitas y vistosas de su armario y colgarlas de forma decorativa de la pared. Me lo apunto!!.
Anyone who doesn´t have a beautiful and spacious dressing room (as her and, of course, me...) can apply this trick: Pick the most beautiful and eye-catching garments and hang them up from the wall in a decorative way. I will note it!!. 
En lugar de clavos para colgar las perchas, Emily emplea cadenas, porque así tiene sitio para más. ¿Buena idea, no? .
In stead of using nails for hanging the hangers up, Emily uses chains, beause that way she has place for more. It´s a good idea, don´t you think so? .
Multitud de collares y flores adornan las paredes.
Thousands of necklaces and flowers decorate all the walls. 
Como soporte para sus complementos utiliza una original cornamenta lacada en blanco que ha decorado con pajaritos.
As a support for her accesories, she uses some original horns lacquered in white which she has decorated with small birds. 
El dormitorio queda abierto al loft y separado del vestidor por cortinajes de cretona que lo aíslan o integran a voluntad.
The bedroom stays open to the loft and separated from the dressing room by cretonne curtains that isolate it or integrate voluntary. 
La estructura de la cama con los asientos de coche como cabecero, es una pieza única de los años 70 que compró su marido hace años, y que Emily ha decorado con cojines de flores y encajes. Tiene incluso altavoces incorporados!!.
The bed´s structure with the car seats as a headboard, is a unique piece of the 70´s that her husband bought years ago, and which Emilly has decorated with flowers and lace cushions. It even has loudspeakers incorporated.
Blanca minicocina. Una de las paredes alberga el toque floral tan característico de Emily.
White petite kitchen. One of the walls houses the floral touch so characteristic of Emily. 
La mesa retro de aire escandinavo, comprada por Emily en un anticuario de Amsterdam, se adapta perfectamente al resto de la decoración, gracias a su sencillez.
The scandinavian air retro table, bought by Emily in an antique dealer from Amsterdam, adapts perfectly to the rest of the decoration, thanks to it´s simplicity.
Cojines de flores confeccionados por Emily que decoran y hacen más acogedoras las sillas del comedor, las cuales compró al dueño de un café. ¡¡No hay dos iguales!!.
Flower cushions made by Emily, which decorate and make the dining chairs even more cosy: the ones she bought to the owner of a café. There are no two identicals!!. 
Siguiendo el estilo de la cocina, Emily optó por adornar el baño con flores, tanto frescas como en postales vintage.
Following the style of the kitchen, Emily chose for decorating the bathroom fresh flowers, as well as printed in vintage postcards.
La serenidad del blanco queda contrastada por la butaca customizada por la estilista y las ilustraciones de flores.
The serenity of the white color contrast with the armchair customized by the stylist and the flower illustrations.
La bañera revestida de cretona estampada de flores, así como el espejo de estilo retro y las letras de la pared (Fijaros en lo que se refleja en el espejo veneciano: Sí, es una E!!), nos remite al estilo bohemio de la casa.
The bath covered with flower printed cretonne, as well as the retro style mirror and the letters of the wall (Look at what is reflected in the venecian mirror: Yes, it´s an E!!), refer us to the bohemian style of the house.¿Qué os ha parecido? Creo que me he enamorado de esta casa...
