No es la primera vez que os hablo de estos dos artistas y seguramente no será la última. Al principio fue solo ella la que consiguió deslumbrarme con sus grandiosos trajes, pero a medida que el tiempo pasaba y mi mirada maduraba, él logro cautivarme también. Moda & Arte / Arte & Moda: un binomio indisoluble en muchos casos y cuestionable en otros. Mary Katrantzou, la diseñadora griega afincada en Londres y famosa por sus "decorativos" estampados, ha colaborado por tercera vez (y esperemos que no última) con el joven fotógrafo neoyorquino Erik Madigan Heck, fundador y director creativo de la revista Nomenus Quaterly, o el "Alta Costura" de la prensa (FYI, por un "módico"precio de $6,500 puede ser vuestro). El resultado: tres series de fotografías basadas en las colecciones de Mary y el surrealismo, movimiento artístico surgido a partir del dadaísmo en Francia durante los locos años 20. Ya os mostré el año pasado la primera serie surgida a raíz de esta maravillosa colaboración "Surreal Plane" (podéis recordarlo clickando aquí) y hoy os deleito (o por lo menos lo intentaré) con sus dos últimas series: "The Surrealist Ideal" y "Florals".

When I first observed their works, she was the one who managed to dazzle me with her amazing dresses, but as time went on and my look developed, he managed to captivate me too. Fashion & Art / Art & Fashion: an indissoluble couple in many cases and questionable in others. Mary Katrantzou, a Greek fashion designer settled in London and well-known for her "home-deco" prints, has collaborated for the third time with the young photographer Erik Madigan Heck, founder and creative director of Nomenus Quaterly magazine (FYI, you can buy it by paying the "small" amount of $6,500...). The final result: three photography series based on Mary´s collections and surrealism, a cultural movement that began in France in the early 20´s and developed out of the Dada activities during World War I. I already showed you last year the first serie they collaborated with named "Surreal Plane" (you can remember it just clicking here) and today I´ll try to delight you with their two last series: "The Surrealist Ideal" and "Florals".
