MY STYLE: CANDEM GIRL

Sí!!! Soy yo!!! No me he perdido, ni caído al río Thamesis, ni nada!! jeje!! Así que tras mi ausencia (la cual siento mucho...), vuelvo con un nuevo look invernal. El perfecto mix & match!!. Muchas veces para construir el conjunto perfecto, y evitar la tan manida (aunque a veces socorrida...) frase de " no tengo nada que ponerme", lo mejor es, partiendo de una prenda base (en mi caso, el vestido), ir cogiendo el resto de acompañantes al azar: Mezclando prendas diferentes, colores y estilos contrapuestos, estampados plus bordados... Porque no siempre lo más pensado, analizado y preparado, resulta ser lo mejor.

Yes!! It´s me!!! I haven´t get lost, neither fallen to the Thamesis river... hehe!1 So after my absence (which I´m really for it...), I return with a new winter look. The perfect mix & match!!. Lots of times, in order to create the perfect outfit, and to avoid the familiar (though sometimes useful...) phrase "I have nothing in my closet", the best thing to do is, starting from one basic garment (in my case, I´ve chosen the dress), and just picking up the rest of clothes at random. Mixing different garments, opposite colours and styles, patterns plus embroideries... Because not always the most thought, analyzed and prepared,  works out for the best.

NY TIMES T STYLE MAGAZINE AW 2010-2011: GOING PLACES

Buenas tardes a todos!! Tras unas semanas de ausencia, vuelvo con una editorial invernal para la revista NY TIMES T STYLE MAGAZINE inspirada en la vida nómada. ¿A quién no le gusta viajar?  Ahora puedes solucionar dos problemas en uno:

A) El cambio climático ha hecho que el frío invernal desaparecido en Diciembre, haya vuelto a Londres. Yo que quería empezar a estrenar mi ropa de verano... ;)

B) Las compañías de vuelo low-cost (las cuales no puedo más que odiar) y sus cada día mayores restricciones con el peso y tamaño de las maletas (entre otras cosas...).

Solución: Una mujer que viaja por el mundo y lleva todos sus souvenirs encima.

Good evening to everybody!! After my two weeks´ absence I come back with a winter fashion editorial for NY TIMES T  STYLE MAGAZINE inspired by the nomadic life. Who doesn´t enjoy travelling? Now you can solve two problems in one:

A) The climate change has made the cold winter disappeared in Dicember, come back to London. Now that I wanted to wear for the first time my new summer clothes... ;)

B) The low-cost companies (which I can´t hate more) and their every day biggest restrictions with the size and weight of the luggage (among other things...).

Solution: A woman who travels the world and wears her souvenirs on her sleeves.

MY STYLE: LADY ROCKER

Hola a todos!! Después de un tiempo de asentamiento empieza mi árdua búsqueda de trabajo como internship para alguna firma de moda londinense, revista, o similar! Bueno, ese es mi objetivo... crucemos los dedos y deseadme suerte!!!

Por lo pronto, os dejo con mi último look!! Como ya os habré dicho alguna vez, la moda está para divertirse y jugar con ella. Jugar a ser cada día un personaje diferente pero sin dejar de ser nosotros mismos. Independientemente de las capas que nos pongamos encima, nuestra esencia siempre estará ahí. Así que hoy he decidido ser una pequeña lady rocker rodeada de street-art graffitero en uno de los barrios más in de Londres: Islington, cuna de jóvenes artistas, multitud de galerías e inspiración en cada esquina. ¿Mi look? Pelo, tachuelas, cuero, negro vs rojo, bordados... just mix & match!!

Hi to everybody!! After some time of settlement, my arduous job search as an internship, for some London fashion brand, magazine, or similar begins! Well, this is my aim! Let´s keep our fingers crossed and wish me luck!!!

For the moment, I leave you with my last look!! As for sure I´ve told you some time, the important thing is to have a good time with fashion and play with her. Play being everyday a different character, but without stopping being ourselves. But regardless of the layers we put over ourselves, our essence will still be there. So today I´ve decided to be a little lady rocker surrounded by graffiti´s street-art in one of the trendiest areas in London: Islington, cradle of young artists, loads of galleries and inspiration in each corner. EL ESTUDIO DE CHRISTOPHER NEMETH: DECONSTRUCTIVISMO

Hace tiempo que no hago un post decorativo... Así que esta semana entramos en el estudio de uno de los que han sido mayores embajadores de la moda inglesa en Japón. Él es CHRISTOPHER NEMETH, un diseñador y pintor inglés, nacido en Birmingham en 1959, y desgraciadamente, fallecido recientemente en Tokyo.

Chistopher es conocido por sus llamativos diseños de atrevidos estampados y colores, realizados en clásicos tejidos, así como por sus elaborados pespuntes decorativos en zig-zag, una de sus señas de identidad. Normalmente sus colecciones están compuestas por trajes sastre cortados y pantalones de hechura caída, junto con faldas, shorts, bolsos y un largo etcétera de prendas reconvertidas.

Tras graduarse en la Escuela de Arte Camberwell, empezó a crear ropa para él, gracias a la cual conoció al fotógrafo Mark  Lebon, el cual le presentó al estilista y diseñador Judy Blame (quien ha trabajado con Bjork, Boy George, Massive Attack, entre otros) y al diseñador de calzado John Moore. Juntos abrieron en Londres "The House of Beauty and Culture", cuya primera colección, basada en la reutilización de materiales encontrados, creando siluetas inesperadas a través de extraodinarios diseños artesanales o de edición limitada, vio la luz en 1985.Pero en 1993, Nemeth decidió trasladar su trabajo a Tokyo, dónde comenzó a vender su ropa en la tienda Sector, y pronto estrenaría su flagship store. Los diseños más recientes de Nemeth son realmente particulares, una fantástica mezcla y explosión de sastres antiguos, descosidos y posteriormente reconvertidos-junto con sacos postales, retales de tejidos, revistas rotas en pedazos, cuerda, hilo, cola, arena y pintura-en chaquetas, camisas, pantalones y corbatas. Lo suyo es ARTE, SENSIBILIDAD Y AMOR por lo que uno hace y viste. Reciclaje, deconstrucción, pero nunca customización, es lo que define la moda de Christopher Nemeth.

It´s been long since I haven´t written any decorative post... So this week we enter the studio of one of the best embassadors of the English fashion in Japan. He is CHRISTOPHER NEMETH, an English painter and designer that was born in 1959 in Birmingham, but unfortunately died recently in Tokyo.

Christopher is known for his eye-catching designs featuring bold patterns and colors, as well as for his elaborate decorative stitching in zig-zag, one of his trademarks. His collections often include cropped suits and drop crotch pants, along with pants, shirts shorts, bags, and a long etcetera of garments reconstructed.

After graduating from Camberwell School of Arts, he began making clothes of his own, thanks to them he met the photographer Mark Lebon, who introduced him to the stylist and designer Judy Blame (who has worked with Bjork, Boy George, Massive Attack, and others), and shoe designer John Moore. All together openen in London "The House of Beauty & Culture", whose first collection based in the reutilization of founded materials creating unexpected silhouettes via handmade one-off  or limited edition designs, was showcased in 1985. But in 1993, Nemeth decided to move his work to Tokyo, where he began selling his collection through the shop Sector, and soon he´ll opened his flagship store. Nemeth´s early designs were insanely distinctive, a fantastic collision of  old suiting un-picked and then re-worked - along with postal sacks, other pieces of fabric, torn-up magazines, rope, string, glue, sand and paint - into jackets, shirts, trousers and ties. All his world is ART, SENSITIVITY AND LOVE of of what one makes and wears. Recycling, Deconstruction, but never customization, is what defines Christopher Nemeth´s fashion and work.
