FASHION ILLUSTRATION: COCO´S UNIVERSE

No hablamos de Coco Chanel; ni tan siquiera de aquel entrañable personaje azul de "Barrio Sésamo" que, tanto nos enseñaba la diferencia entre estar cerca o lejos como hacía las veces de súper héroe infantil al grito de "¡¡Supercoco!!". No, no. Esta vez hacemos mención a una reciente incorporación al reino frutal en forma de diseñadora y artista gráfica proveniente de París y cuyos dibujos han copado reconocidas revistas de moda como Elle, Vogue, Nylon o Dazed & Confused, entre otras. Tras graduarse por la Escuela de Bellas Artes de París, COCO PIT, comenzó su andadura profesional como consultora comercial para diferentes diseñadores de moda y casas de costura, pasando a crear su propia empresa de consultoría creativa y tecnológica en Londres hasta por fin meterse de lleno en el maravilloso y mágico mundo de la ilustración del que nunca más ha llegado a salir. Y viendo su obra, entendemos porqué...

We aren´t talking about Coco Chanel, nor that likable blue character from children´s TV program "Sesame Street" named "Supercoco". This time we want to mention the recent incorporation to this fruity reign of a French designer and graphic artist whose little drawings have appeared in different fashion magazines such as Elle, Vogue, Nylon or Dazed & Confused, among others. After spending five years studying Fine Arts in Paris, COCO PIT began her professional career from working as a communication consultant for several leading fashion designers and Haute Couture Houses to setting up her own creative and technology consultancy company in London until finally dedicating herself entirely to the magic and lovely world of illustration, from where she hasn´t gone away. And staring a while at her work, we understand the reason...

MY STYLE: TWO NAVY LOOKS IN THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA

¡Hola a todos aquellos que sigáis de puente-acueducto y a los que hayáis retornado ya a la rutina laboral!. Espero que hayáis tenido unos bonitos días de relax y que no esté siendo muy dura la vuelta a la realidad. Para que desconectéis un poco entre tarea y tarea, hoy os he preparado este post con varias de las prendas que nunca pueden faltar en nuestros armarios veraniegos:

NAVY LOOK 2:

¿Es el azul marino el nuevo negro o es el negro el nuevo azul marino?. Esta dicotomía se plantea casi cada temporada, y a pesar de que los detractores pueden ser casi mayores que los defensores; nunca digas nunca jamás. Tal y como dice la película del director español Daniel Sánchez Arévalo con el guapo Quim Gutiérrez como protagonista, "AzulOscuroCasiNegro"; ¿Por qué no combinar el color más elegante de la paleta cromática con el más estilizador y clásico?. Un look marinero o de capitán de barco. Un look con el que ir a trabajar, de shopping o de copas con tus amigas. Un look con el que romper las reglas no escritas de la moda. (Porque para qué están las reglas si no es para eso?;)). 

Is it navy blue the new black or the other way round?. This dichotomy sets out almost every season, and despite the number of detractors may be bigger than the defenders; never say never. As Spanish film "AzulOscuroCasiNegro" says: Why not combine the most elegant color from the chromatic palette with the most stylish and classic one?. A navy look or boat´s captain one. The perfect outfit to go to work, shopping or have some drinks with your friends. A look to break the non-written rules of fashion (because, what for do rules exist if they aren´t for that? ;)).

MY STYLE: RAINY NAVY DAY

Hola mis queridos amigos!. Como ya os comenté en el anterior post, mi periplo londinense ha llegado a su fin. Madrid es mi nueva ciudad y la búsqueda de hogar mi nueva pesadilla!! jaja!! Aunque no os lo creáis, llevo solo una semana aquí y ya me he visto 30 pisos!!! Resultado: Cero patatero. Y no creo que exija demasiado!!. La mayoría bajos y sótanos, interiores a micro patios horrorosos, con decoración salida de Cuéntame como pasó o cocinas de juguete... En fin, PACIENCIA!! jeje!! Os dejo con el perfecto look para la lluvia con el que saltar y brincar por cada charco de agua a nuestro paso (cosa que me encanta hacer siempre). Sencillo, marinero y colorista, como a mi me gusta!!. 

Good evening my dear friends!! As I told you before, my life in London has come to an end. Madrid is now my new city and house hunting has become my new nightmare!! hehe!!. Believe it or not, it´s only been a week since I arrived here and I´ve already seen 30 apartments!!!!. The result: NONE!!!. And I don´t think I demand too much!!. Honestly, most of them are ground floors or basements, interior to horrible and super small courtyards, with very old & ugly decoration or with toy sized kitchens... Anyway, I just need to be PATIENT!!. hehe!. So I´ll leave you with my outfit for a rainy day. Simple, comfy, navy style and colorful, just what I love the most!!.

INSPIRATION: STREESTYLE FALL 2011

Hola a tod@s!!! Por fin he conseguido hacer un hueco entre piso y sueño para mostraros mis últimos descubrimientos fotográficos street style-eros. Londres tristemente forma ya parte de mi pasado. No os voy a mentir, solo han transcurrido tres días desde que abandoné la gran ciudad y ya la echo de menos!! Pero hay que mirar para adelante y no estancarnos en aquellos tiempos que mejores o no, atrás quedaron. Ya sé que la teoría es muy fácil, pero que luego hay que llevarla a la práctica... Y ahí llega la parte complicada. Porque la mente y el corazón a veces nos juegan malas pasadas... Sea como fuere, poder es querer y yo quiero!!. 

Good morning guys!!!. At last I´ve  managed to find spare time between my house searching and sleep hunting to show you my latest street style discoveries!!. Sadly, London belongs now to the past. I´m not gonna lie to you, but honestly, I surely miss it!!. Nevertheless, let´s put sight on the present and future rather than being stuck in previous times. MY STYLE: ROMANTIC ROCKER GIRL

Buenas tardes queridos amigos!! Mi look se va acercando poco a poco al invierno que acecha. Como ya os conté en un post anterior, hasta previo aviso y realmente hasta que tenga tiempo de hacer una sesión de fotos en condiciones, tiraré de fondo de armario y de archivo. Me piyaís en plena mudanza London (sniff, sniff) - Madrid (here we goooo) con lo que ello conlleva: el baúl de la Piquer (en estos momentos es cuando te das cuenta que tienes demasiaaaadas cosas. El problema es que luego pasa el tiempo y se te olvida y vas adquiriendo más y más... decidme por favor que no soy la única a la que le pasa!!) + búsqueda de piso + búsqueda de trabajo (tiene alguien alguna oferta? :)). En fin.... que para una tarde de ocio por Oxford Street y sus multitud de tiendas este es el look que opté por lucir: flores vs tachuelas, femenino vs masculino, romanticismo vs rock, color vs austeridad.

Good evening, my dear friends!! My look is gradually getting closer to the upcoming winter. As I told you in the previous my style post, until further notice and until I have time to make a good session, I will make the most of my wardrobe and my photographic archive. I´m really busy right now moving home and country/city from London (sniff, sniff) to Madrid (here we goooo) with all the stuff that it entails: "just a few" boxes full of my things (this is the moment when you realize that you have too many of everything. The problem is when time goes by and you forget the whole previous idea and you begin buying more and more and more... please, tell me I´m not the only one to feel like this!!) + house searching + job hunting (does anybody happen to have any offer?:)). MY STYLE: ROSES & STRIPES

¡¡¡ Como me gusta el verano de San Martin !!!

Could it be possible to love more a summer that doesn´t want to leave?

¿Será este mi último look posteado con prendas veraniegas?. ¡¡Esto del cambio climático nos está volviendo locos a todos, incluso a mi armario!!. ¡¡jeje!!. Ya sé que estaréis deseando ver mis últimas adquisiciones de temporada, pero tengo varias sesiones preparadas en las que me propuse tirar de fondo de armario. Así que hasta nuevo aviso, old it is!:)

Will this be my last look with summery garments!. Climate change is driving us crazy!!. I know you may be willing to see my last purchases for this autumn/winter season, but sadly or happily for you and me, I´ve decided to make the most of my wardrobe. So, until further notice, old is my new adjective! :)

Para un paseo por el Soho Londinense decidí sacar las flores y las rayas a pasear. Otra vez vuelvo a la tendencia COLOR BLOCK (como ya hice aquí), pero llevada otra vez a mi terreno. A estas alturas de la "canción" ya sabéis que los estampados y la temática floral son lo mío. Así que para no traicionar a mi fidelidad hacia estos dos clásicos ya en mi armario, decidí combinar esta falda de inspiración campesina (una de mis mejores compras rebajiles) con este sencillo top de estilo vintage, y lo que en un principio era un collar de rosas, pero que yo opté por cambiar su uso y convertirlo en una diadema con delicados toques románticos. El bolso ya me lo habéis visto por aquí y las sandalias se conviertieron en el complemento perfecto para poner el broche final a mi look lady. 

For a short walk along Soho, I decided to wear the combo flowers + stripes. It´s not the first time I resort to the COLOR BLOCK trend (as I already did here), but always bringing it to my side. By this stage, you must have realized that prints in general and the flower theme are my thing. So, in order no to betray my fidelity to these two classics in my closet, I chose to combine the peasant-like skirt with this simple vintage style top; and what at first was a lovely rose necklace, but I opted for a change in its use and turned it into a romantic headband. The bag isn´t new for you and the denim sandals added the perfect final touch to my ladylike look.

MY STYLE: ABSTRACT DRESS

Terminamos el mes de Agosto, y para casi todos con él el verano, con uno de los últimos looks veraniegos de la temporada. En uno de los pocos días en los que el sol inglés decidió asomar su linda cabecita de entre las nubes (de hecho todos los looks que saqué son de la misma semana ;), el resto del més volvió a tornarse gris, frío y lluvioso...); aproveché para estrenar una de mis últimas compras rebajiles del invierno pasado (más vale tarde que nunca, no? hehe). Lo que más me gustó fue su estampado abstracto. Es como si el diseñador hubiese querido utilizar la prenda como lienzo para plasmar en ella una de sus obras pictóricas. Como si hubiese querido escribir un poema sobre la vida con el simple uso de la acuarela. Como si hubiese dejado escapar sus pensamientos a través de intensos brochazos de color...

We are sadly ending August and so, one of my last summer outfits. During one of the few days in which the English sun decided to come out from the grey and rainy clouds, I took advantage of the good weather and used for the first time one of my latest sale shoppings from last winter 2010 (better late that never, isn´t it?). What I loved the most of the dress was its abstract print. It´s as if the designer had wanted to use the garment as a canvas to give expression to one of his works of art. As if he had wanted to write a poem about life with the simple use of watercolors. As if he had let his thoughts escape through intense color brush strokes...
