PAPER CUT ART: GEORGIA RUSSEL

¡¡Buenos días!!. ¿Me echabais de menos?. ¡Siento el retraso!. Me habéis pillado en medio de un proceso gripal horrible que me ha dejado K.O. Hace tiempo que no os muestro descubrimientos más allá de la moda. Y éste en concreto es uno de los que más me apasionan: el arte en papel. Obras que esconden una verdadera historia tras ellas, delicados y minuciosos cortes que intentan descifrar lo que el ojo no alcanza a ver, intrincadas y originales formas que se van creando al paso de una no menos precisa herramienta... GEORGIA RUSSEL es una artista escocesa residente en París, cuya obra artística se basa en la disección de diferentes objetos como libros, partituras musicales, fotos o mapas, mediante su herramienta estrella: un escalpelo. El resultado son unas impresionantes esculturas que harían las delicias de cualquier crítico literario y de cualquier hogar.

Good morning!. Have you missed me?. I´m sorry for my absence!. I´ve caught a flu that doesn´t want to go away. It´s been a while since I last showed you my newest discoveries far away from the fashion theme. And this one specifically is one of my favorites: the paper cut art. Works that hide a story behind them, delicate and meticulous cuts which try to decipher what the eye can´t see, complicated and original  shapes that are created as times goes by...GEORGIA RUSSEL is a Scottish artist settled in Paris, whose work of art is based on the dissection of different objects such as books, musical scores, pictures or maps, among others. Her basic tool: a small scalpel and the final result: these precious sculptures which would delight the toughest literary critic and any cozy home.
