Hola chicos!!. Como os prometí en el anterior post que os haría una breve crónica de los desfiles que vi durante las tres primeras jornadas de la MBFWM 2012, aquí os dejo con mis favoritos. Tanto la jornada del sábado, como el EGO y la Madrid Fashion Week (no patrocinada por Mercedes Benz) las tengo que estudiar detenidamente. Son tantos desfiles y tantas fotos!. Así que dejamos una segunda parte para el próximo post.

Hi guys!!. As I promised you in my previous post, here you have my summary of the fashion shows I went to during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid 2012. These are my favorites. The ones that happened on Saturday and Sunday, I still have to "study" them. So whenever I finish the task, I´ll write the second part of the post. There are so many fashion shows and pics!!.

JORNADA I / DAY ONE

FRANCIS MONTESINOS: "FASHION TOUR"

Como si de un bosque encantado se tratara, las modelos hacían su entrada en la pasarela bajo cálidos abrigos manta crudos con bordados o de estampado tartán sobre delicados vestidos de gasa con estampado floral, otros de lentejuelas y los más espectaculares cuajados de volantes y plumas para una ninfa moderna.

As if an enchanted forest was all about, models came in under warm cream embroidered coats or Tartan printed ones over delicate chiffon floral printed dresses, others with sequins and the most spectacular ones studded with frills and feathers for a modern nymph.

JUAN DUYOS: "MEMORABILIA"

Los años 20 son una clara inspiración para este gran diseñador español. Llevo siguiendo su carrera prácticamente desde que empezó y nunca ha dejado de sorprenderme. Esta vez apuesta por siluetas lánguidas bañadas en tonos pastel (esmeralda, violáceos, menta, rosa o aguamarina), dorados y con destellos champán. Se trata de una colección muy femenina, elegante y minimalista que sin embargo hace pequeñas concesiones a las lentejuelas, cuellos camiseros que incorporan cristales y suaves golas de pelo largo transmitiendo una belleza serena con tintes retro.

The 20´s are a clear inspiration for this great Spanish designer. I´ve been following his career practically since he started and he has never stopped surprising me. This time he´s going for languid silhouettes covered with pastel shades (emerald, violet, mint green, pale pink or aquamarine), golds and some champagne sparkles. His collection is very feminine, elegant and minimal, but sometimes he makes some concessions to sequins, shirt collars full of crystals and soft long fur ruff collars which manage to transmit a calm beauty with retro tones.

JORNADA II / DAY TWO

AILANTO: "CHINOISERIE"

La colección de los hermanos Ailanto está construída partiendo del término "Chinoiserie", un estilo artístico europeo que alcanzó su auge a mediados del siglo XVIII y que recoge la influencia China caracterizada por el uso de diseños propios del lugar, la asimetría, caprichosos cambios de tamaño, el uso de materiales lacados y abundante decoración. Los estampados y tejidos fueron los grandes protagonistas del desfile: acabados brillantes con motivos de inspiración oriental construían siluetas estrictas y retenidas para el día en forma de vestidos y abrigos de inspiración kimono con cinturones Obi, pantalones tobilleros y faldas lápiz mezcladas con vaporosas blusas; y más fluidas para la noche como los vaporosos vestidos con talle a la cadera y cierto aire años 20 que robaron mi corazón. En cuanto a la gama cromática, apostaron por la sobriedad: negro carbón, gris plomo y perla, cobre, azul tinta con pinceladas de turquesa o marfil.

Ailanto´s collection was created starting from the term "Chinoiserie", a European artistic style which achieved its peak about the middle of the XVIII Century. It captures the influence of China characterized by the use of Chinese designs, asymmetry, fanciful size changes, the use of lacquered materials and plentiful decoration. Prints and fabrics where the great protagonists of the fashion show: bright finishes with oriental inspired motifs built severe and retained silhouettes for the day in the shape of dresses and coats inspired in the kimono with Obi belts, ankle length trousers and pencil skirts paired with sheer blouses; and smoother ones for the night such as the 20´s style diaphanous large waisted dresses which stole my heart. As for the chromatic range, they went for sobriety: coal-black, lead and pearl-gray, cooper-brown and ink-blue with turquoise or ivory touches.

MIGUEL PALACIO: THE 40´S

El diseñador vasco, cuyos comienzos en el mundo de la moda fueron de la mano de Fernando Lemoniez, apostó por ensalzar a una mujer moderna resaltando sus curvas y creando vestidos de clara inspiración Art Decó y blusitas de corte babydoll. Como detalle original: el estampado con micro stilettos de sus sedosos vestidos camiseros.

The Basque designer, who began in the fashion industry with Fernando Lemoniez and their brand Palacio & Lemoniez, went for praising a modern woman bringing out her curves and creating Art Deco inspired dresses, as well as babydoll blouses. As an original detail, the micro stilletto print over her silk shirt dresses.

JORNADA III / DAY THREE

TERESA HELBIG: THE JAZZ ERA

Los locos años 20 han sido la fuente de inspiración más recurrida durante estas jornadas de moda. Las nuevas flapper girls se movían con sensualidad a lo largo de la pasarela luciendo vestidos de talle largo en tonos nude, rosa empolvado, negro o esmeralda, a la cadera, ligeramente holgados y con delicados plisados en seda que se combinaban con el cuero más suave. Estolas de plumas simulando pelo, mágicos bordados de pedrería, perlas y cristales, transparencias y botas cowboy rematan cada uno de los looks.

The crazy 20´s have been the most recurrent source of inspiration during these fashion days. The new flapper girls moved with sensuality all along the catwalk wearing long-waisted dresses in nude, pale pink, black or emerald shades, low-cut, slightly loose-fitting and with delicate silk pleating details that were combined with the softest leather. Feather stoles that pretended to be fur, magic precious stones, pearls and crystal embroidery, transparencies and cowboy boots finished off each of the looks.

ANA LOCKING: "TIME CAPSULE"

Pasado versus Futuro. Con esta colección, la diseñadora establece una conexión entre nuestra última década y el periodo de prosperidad que tuvo Estados Unidos en los años 20, y que desencadenó una burbuja especulativa que culminó en el crack del 29. Siluetas inspiradas en los años 20 que contrastan con volúmenes ovales y semi-rígidos contemporáneos se suceden en la pasarela al ritmo de la música. Del mismo modo, tejidos de aspecto vintage como la lana o el mohair contrastan con otros de última generación como la lana con lúrex o escamas traslúcidas creando estructuradas chaquetas con geométricos cortes, faldas de flecos y vestidos cóctel de lineas redondeadas en vibrantes tonos como el caldera, el limón fluor, el azul pato, el pistacho, el verde petróleo o el rojo coral. El perfecto broche final lo compusieron una serie de vestidos de noche largos y holgados, con estampado geométrico en el clásico binomio blanco & negro aderezados por cinturones de latón dorado con toques Art-Decó que hicieron las delicias de los allí presentes.

Past versus Future. With this collection, the designer establishes a connection between our last decade and the prosperity period of the United States during the 20´s and which triggered a speculative bubble that culminated in the crisis of 1929. Silhouettes inspired in the 20´s that contrast with contemporary oval and semi rigid volumes crossed the catwalk in time to the music. In the same way, vintage-looking fabrics as wool and mohair contrast with high-tech materials such as wool plus lurex or trasludent scales creating structured jackets with geometric cuts, fringed skirts and rounded shaped cocktail dresses in bright shades such as the crater color, fluorescent lemon yellow, teal green, pistachio, petroleum green or coral red. The perfect brooch was made up of long, loose-fitting black & white evening gowns liven up with art deco inspired golden brass belts which delighted everyone present there.

Buenas tardes a tod@s!!. Siento mucho haber estado tan ausente desde mi último post. Espero que por lo menos, las fotos os evocasen durante un largo tiempo bonitos recuerdos y ganas de que llegue la dulce primavera. La verdad es que se me juntaron varias cosas: Visita express de mi madre, la preparación y extra dosis de nervios de la entrevista de trabajo que tuve, la Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid 2012 (a partir de ahora simplemente, MBFWM! toma yaaaa!! jaja), noches de fiesta... En fin, que vas sumando y te das cuenta de que el tiempo vuelaaaa ✈ ✈ ✈

Good evening to everybody!!. I´m very sorry for my absence (I hope at least you enjoyed my inspirational pics from the previous post...), but I´ve been quite busy these days!. My mother came to visit me, I had a job interview (still waiting for their answer! soooo nervous!!), the Fashion Week in Madrid took place, I partied a little bit too... And time goes by soooo quickly, you don´t have even time to notice it!!.

Supongo que ya todos estaréis más que puestos con los desfiles de estos días!!. Gracias a mi amiga Juls, pude ir a casi todos y algunos incluso al backstage donde los nervios y las emociones están más a flor de piel y las prisas a la orden del día. Yo todavía me tengo que poner al día con los que me perdí pero intentaré haceros una crónica con mis favoritos. La verdad es que me lo pasé como una niña con sus zapatitos nuevos. Es cansado al final después de tantos días tan intensos, pero merece con creces la pena. Y me encantó conocer en persona a tantos otros bloggers a los que sigo casi diariamente!!.

I suppose most of you have already taken a look at all the fashion shows that have happened these days!!. Thanks to my dearest friend Juls, I managed to attend most of them not only in the front-row but at the backstage too. I still have to get up to the date with the ones I missed but I´ll try to write a post with my favorites!!. The truth is I had a great time not only attending the fashion shows but meeting great people too!. It´s really nice putting face to other bloggers you follow!!.

FRIDAY INSPIRATION: FLOWER BLOOM

¡¡¡Buenas tardes a todos!!!. Que mejor manera de dar la bienvenida al fin de semana que con un poco de inspiración. Llevo años acumulando fotos en mil y una carpetas que por una razón u otra han ido llamando mi atención, y por fin he decidido compartirlas con todos vosotros. Así que de vez en cuando, os regalaré este tipo de posts que espero que os gusten tanto como a mi!!.

Good evening to everybody!!. I´ve been collecting great pictures for several years. Pictures that inspired me for their "allure", color palette, prints and beauty have been saved in thousands of folders in my laptop waiting to be shared and introduced to the world. That moment has finally arrived and from now on, and every now and then, I will try to delight your eyes with this kind of posts. Hope you like them as much as i do!!.

¡Buenas noches a todos!. A poco tiempo de comenzar la Mercedes-Benz Madrid Fashion Week 2012 (no había un nombre un poco más largo? jeje!), os dejo con uno de los looks que me saqué durante las navidades en mi bella San Sebastián. Un lugar lleno de recuerdos de mi infancia que no quiero olvidar con personas que siguen y otras que ya no están. Un lugar que quiero guardar en un pequeño rincón de mi mente y que no quiero dejar escapar. Un lugar que... bueno, igual mejor dejo la poesía para otros. ;) Pero la esencia es la misma y la que siempre se mantendrá.

Good night, my dear friends!!. Shortly before Mercedes-Benz Madrid Fashion Week 2012 starts (wasn´t there any other longer name? hehe), I want to show you one of the looks that my lovely sister shoot me during Christmas holidays at my beloved San Sebastian city. A place full of fond childhood memories with people that still remain here and others that sadly aren´t any more. A place not to forget but to keep in a tiny corner of my mind and heart.

FASHION EDITORIAL: FLORA & FAUNA

Hola chic@s!!!. Ya de vuelta en Madrid tras las vacaciones Navideñas con un nuevo post de revista!. En cuanto este editorial cayó en mis manos, supe que tenía que mostrároslo!!. Ya sabéis lo que me gusta a mi la mezcla ecléctica de estampados, más que a un tonto un lápiz o a una niña sus zapatitos nuevos!! jaja!!. En este caso, multitud de flores de todos los tamaños y formas, pequeños insectos y feroces animales de la selva bajo vibrantes y atrevidos colores son los protagonistas.

Hi guys!!. I´m back in Madrid after spending my Christmas holidays in San Sebastian. As soon as I bumped into this fashion editorial, I knew I couldn´t keep it just for myself and needed to share it with all of you. I discovered this magazine in London, among other ones that sadly I can´t find in Spain. So I´m willing to go back to the English capital just to enlarge my library, hehe!. You already know how much I love the eclectic mix of prints. So in this case, loads of flowers in every kind of shape and size plus tiny insects and fierce animals under bold and bright colors are the stars of this artistic work.

MY STYLE: THE THREE WISE MEN SPARKLING NIGHT

Buenas tardes a todos!!. Qué tal habéis pasado las vacaciones?. Toca ya volver a la rutina (y a la dieta; que creo que no he comido tanto en toda mi vida!!. Eso de vivir momentáneamente en el hogar familiar es lo que tiene... jaja). Aunque voy con un poco de retraso, os dejo con mi look de víspera de Reyes. Seguramente esta falda la tendréis más vista que el TBO, pero como cada persona es única y su estilo también, yo os muestro mi particular forma de combinarla. Me la compré hace meses, pero quería reservarla para uno de estos especiales días. Y como para celebrar el fin de año me puse la minifalda de encaje que os mostré la semana pasada, pues a ésta le tocó este día. La verdad es que me encanta, pero por ponerle un "pero": pierde "hijos" por todas partes. Vamos, que o eres extremadamente cuidadosa y no te mueves en toda la noche o vete despidiéndote cada minuto de alguna de sus lentejuelas...

Good evening to everybody!!. Did you have a good time these past holidays?. It´s time of getting back into the routine. Although it´s been several days since the night before The Three Wise Men (this sounds a bit odd in English, and I don´t really know whether you celebrate it), I wanted to share with you the look I wore. I´m pretty sure you´ve already seen this sparkling skirt in lots of blogs or girls, but as every person is different and so every style, I´ll show you my particular way of dressing it. I bought it two months ago or so, but I preferred to wait until these special days came. The truth is that I love it (otherwise, I wouldn´t have bought it...), but if I had to find some sort of fault in it, either you are extremely cautious and you decide not to move all night long, or get used to the idea of loosing sequins every minute...

JACQUES-HENRI LARTIGUE, EL FOTÓGRAFO DE LA FELICIDAD

¡¡Buenos días a todos y feliz día de Reyes pasado!!. ¡¡Espero que hayáis tenido algún que otro regalo sorpresa y que estéis pasando unos días estupendos!!. Aunque poco queda ya... :(. Para coger el fin de semana con fuerza, y como mi pequeño presente navideño, os dejo con mi último descubrimiento fotográfico. JACQUES-HENRI LARTIGUE (1894-1986) ha sido uno de los referentes visuales del siglo XX. Fue un reconocido pintor y fotógrafo francés creador de una nueva forma de percepción fotográfica. Perteneciente a una acomodada familia de industriales, su padre le regaló su primera cámara cuando tan solo tenía 7 años, y desde entonces fue creando un "pequeño" diario con el que consiguió reflejar, con gran sensibilidad y bajo su frágil y conmovedora mirada, las nuevas formas de vida que surgieron en las primeras décadas del siglo XX, en las que las mujeres asumieron un papel activo en la sociedad y el progreso tecnológico dio lugar a nuevas formas de ocio. Impulsado por un gran miedo a la pérdida, al dolor y a la muerte, Lartigue poseía una necesidad obsesiva por retener los momentos felices de su vida. Tal y como él mismo decía, "Desde niño padezco una especie de enfermedad. Todas las cosas que me maravillan se escapan sin que pueda guardarlas lo suficiente en la memoria". Por ello, sus fotografías están llenas de vida, de magia y de optimismo.

Good morning my dear friends!!. Hope you´ve enjoyed these party days before the working ones come back!!. I would like to share with all of you one of my latest discovery. JACQUES-HENRI LARTIGUE (1894-1986) has been, and still is, one of the most important visual references from the 20th Century. He was a well known French artist and photographer who created a new way of photographic perception. Belonging to a wealthy family, he started taking photos when he was just 7 years old, and from that moment on he began his own diary which managed to reflect the society of the modernist era, where women assumed an active role and the technologic processing gave rise to new leisure forms. Driven by a great fear to loss, pain and death, Lartigue owned an obsessive need to retain the happiest moments of his entire life. As he once said, "Since I was a child, I suffer from a strange disease. Everything that amazes me runs away and I can´t keep them enough time in my head". That´s why his pics are full of life, magic and optimism.

MY STYLE: NEW YEAR´S EVE PARTY LOOK

¡¡Feliz 2012 a todos!!. Espero que hayáis pasado unos días estupendos y que los que vengan en este nuevo año sean aún mejores. Yo no soy nada buena en mostrar mis sentimientos y abrir mi corazón. Aunque éstos estén ahí, siempre quedan ocultos tras una coraza que yo misma he creado a lo largo de los años y que los protege o cree proteger del daño y del dolor; posibles o reales, presentes o futuros. Puede ser herencia germánica de mis antepasados, o simplemente porque yo y mis circunstancias me han hecho así. Para bien o seguramente para mal, porque encerrarse en una misma nunca es bueno, yo soy así y así seguiré, nunca cambiaré (o quizás sí...), (gracias Alaska por prestarme este trozito de frase :)). El caso es que quería agradeceros de todo corazón vuestra presencia a lo largo de estos ya casi dos años en el blog.

Happy 2012 to everybody!!!!. Hope you´ve all had some gorgeous days with your family & friends, and that the upcoming ones will hopefully be better too. I´m not very keen on showing my feelings nor opening my heart. Even though they are there, they always end hidden behind some sort of shield that I have built in the course of my life and which protects or believes to protect them from any kind of harm or pain; possible or real, present or future ones. It may be inherited from my German ancestors, or just because me, myself and my circumstances have made me this way. For better or probably worse, ´cause withdrawing into oneself is never good; I am this way and I will continue this way, I will never change (or maybe yes...), (Thanks to the singer Alaska for letting me use this small piece of sentence from her song "Who he cares" :)). The thing is that I wanted to be grateful to you with all my heart for your presence at My Little Suede Shoes blog in the course of almost these two years.

GRACIAS por vuestros comentarios y visitas, por vuestras muestras de cariño, por seguirme, por descubrirme vuestros blogs, por la relación de amistad que se va creando con el tiempo con unos y que se creará y afianzará con otros, por enseñarme cosas nuevas y no dejar de aprender con vosotros. MY STYLE: A CLASHING PRINT PARTY

¡¡Hola a todos!!. ¿Qué tal habéis pasado estas navidades?. ¿Habéis tenido muchos regalitos o se han perdido por el camino?. A mi algo me ha caído, pero los Reyes son los que tendrán la última y gran palabra... Hasta ahora nunca me han sorprendido con carbón, así que espero poder seguir manteniendo la tradición! jeje. Hi guys!!. Did you enjoy your Christmas holidays?. Did you get loads of presents?. I did get something, but I still have to wait till the Three Wise Men arrive the 5th-6th of January. I have always been a good girl and, therefore, they have never brought me sweet coal, so I really hope this tradition carries on! hehe! As the nougat candy, I´ve come back home for Christmas, so, as you´ll see from now on, my beloved San Sebastian will be the backdrop in my following shootings (I´d like to take this opportunity to thank my sister for her great pics and her amazing patiente with the model... hehe! Lots of kisses for her!!!).

Este fue el look elegido para una tranquila mañana de paseo por la ciudad. Sencillez, comodidad y una loca mezcla de estampados fueron mis tres reglas de oro. Lunares, cuadros y estrellas se fundían en un solo motivo. Puede parecer demasiado, pero ese demasiado es lo que me hace a mí ser yo.

This is the look I chose the other day for a relaxed walk along the city. Simplicity, comfort and a crazy mix of prints were my "Golden" rules. Polka-dots, Scottish tartan and stars merged into one single motif. It may seem too much, but that´s what makes me be me.

Hola a todos!!!. ¿Me echabais de menos?. Espero que un poquito sí. :). Este es el primer look fotografiado en mi nueva ciudad Madrileña. Entre visita y visita a mis nuevos amigos Ikea y Zara Home, y tras pasar el puente en mi querida San Sebastián, saqué tiempo para fotografiar mi look Dominguero y dar así por inaugurada una nueva etapa en mi vida. Ahora solo me falta un trabajo en el mundo fashion. ¿No tendréis alguna oferta para mí? jeje!. Bueno, para dar la bienvenida a mi nuevo hogar, decidí estrenar mi última compra pre-navideña: este jersey de jacquard en tonos azules que tanto me recordaba a los que lucían mis padres en su época juvenil. ¡¡Buenos días y feliz puente a tod@s los que hayáis podido pillarlo!!. El resto... ya es viernes!!!!. Tal y como os prometí en el anterior post, os muestro para gusto y deleite vuestro (y mío), el estilo de esta espectacular mujer. Parece una princesa de cuento de hadas en pleno siglo XXI, pero ~~nada~~ todo más lejos de la realidad es una fotógrafa rusa reconvertida en diseñadora (creo que le damos tod@s un aprobado con creces por su primera colección) y style-icon. Tal y como veréis, tiene todo un arte en mezclar prendas de aspecto vintage con accesorios modernos y viceversa. Faldas y vestidos corola, clutches por doquier, flores y lunares, pumps, corsés, broches antiguos, pañuelos y coronas a la cabeza, terciopelo, tejidos ingleses, mohair y cashmere, encajes y gasas...

She seems to be a fairy-tale princess in the middle of the 21st century, but ~~nothing~~ everything further from the truth, she´s a Russian photographer retrained as a fashion designer and style-icon. As you´ll see, she has a flair for mixing vintage-esque garments with modern accessories and vice versa: Corolla skirts and dresses, clutches, flowers and polka-dots, pumps, corsets, antique brooches, headscarfs and crowns, velvet, lace, mohair and cashmere or British fabrics such as tweed, herringbone or hounds-tooth.

¡¡Hola a todos!! Tengo una gran noticia: Ya tengo hogarrrrrrr!!!!. ¡¡Y yo que pensaba que este momento no iba a llegar nunca!!. ¡¡No puedo estar más contenta!!. Ahora tocan viajes varios a Ikea, Zara Home y demás coetáneos para conseguir hacer del pisito, MI pisito. Bueno, NUESTRO pisito, que mi novio también cuenta (aunque el gusto decorativo lo pongo yo! jeje!). Pero poco a poco, que la mudanza y vaciado de cajas ya me han dejado muerta!!.

Hi guys!!. I´ve got some great news I can´t wait sharing with all of you!!. I finally have my own home!!! I never thought this day could ever come!!. I couldn´t be happier!!. Now is time of going on a trip to Ikea, Zara Home and other contemporaries to try making the apartment, OUR apartment. But gradually, because the move and the packing-unpacking moment have nearly "killed" me.

Para celebrar este gran momento, os dejo con la espectacular colección debut de la diseñadora e icono estilístico rusa ULIANA SERGIENKO; un nombre que os será difícil de olvidar, no solo por su complejidad gramatical sino porque yo no os voy a dejar! jeje!. En el próximo post de My Little Suede Shoes os mostraré el estilo único y personal de esta gran mujer, que seguro os maravillará tanto como a mi por su singularidad, sofisticación y elegancia. Pero mientras, a lo que íbamos; la colección de Sergienko está compuesta de favorecedoras y esbeltas siluetas, delicados estampados vintage y coquetos gorritos. Solo le pongo una pega, porque la perfección no existe (ni queremos que exista...): esos botines ergonómicos que, queremos creer, se han colado en la sesión fotográfica del lookbook.

Hola mis queridos amigos!. Como ya os comenté en el anterior post, mi periplo londinense ha llegado a su fin. Madrid es mi nueva ciudad y la búsqueda de hogar mi nueva pesadilla!! jaja!! Aunque no os lo creáis, llevo solo una semana aquí y ya me he visto 30 pisos!!! Resultado: Cero patatero. Y no creo que exija demasiado!!. La mayoría bajos y sótanos, interiores a micro patios horrorosos, con decoración salida de Cuéntame como pasó o cocinas de juguete... En fin, PACIENCIA!! jeje!! Os dejo con el perfecto look para la lluvia con el que saltar y brincar por cada charco de agua a nuestro paso (cosa que me encanta hacer siempre). Sencillo, marinero y colorista, como a mi me gusta!!.

Good evening my dear friends!! As I told you before, my life in London has come to an end. Madrid is now my new city and house hunting has become my new nightmare!! hehe!!. Believe it or not, it´s only been a week since I arrived here and I´ve already seen 30 apartments!!!!. The result: NONE!!!. And I don´t think I demand too much!!. Honestly, most of them are ground floors or basements, interior to horrible and super small courtyards, with very old & ugly decoration or with toy sized kitchens... Hola a tod@s!!! Por fin he conseguido hacer un hueco entre piso y sueño para mostraros mis últimos descubrimientos fotográficos street style-eros. Londres tristemente forma ya parte de mi pasado. No os voy a mentir, solo han transcurrido tres días desde que abandoné la gran ciudad y ya la echo de menos!! Pero hay que mirar para adelante y no estancarnos en aquellos tiempos que mejores o no, atrás quedaron. Ya sé que la teoría es muy fácil, pero que luego hay que llevarla a la práctica... Y ahí llega la parte complicada. Porque la mente y el corazón a veces nos juegan malas pasadas... Sea como fuere, poder es querer y yo quiero!!.

MY STYLE: ROMANTIC ROCKER GIRL

Buenas tardes queridos amigos!! Mi look se va acercando poco a poco al invierno que acecha. Como ya os conté en un post anterior, hasta previo aviso y realmente hasta que tenga tiempo de hacer una sesión de fotos en condiciones, tiraré de fondo de armario y de archivo. Me piyaís en plena mudanza London (sniff, sniff) - Madrid (here we goooo) con lo que ello conlleva: el baúl de la Piquer (en estos momentos es cuando te das cuenta que tienes demasiaaaadas cosas. El problema es que luego pasa el tiempo y se te olvida y vas adquiriendo más y más... decidme por favor que no soy la única a la que le pasa!!) + búsqueda de piso + búsqueda de trabajo (tiene alguien alguna oferta? :)). En fin.... que para una tarde de ocio por Oxford Street y sus multitud de tiendas este es el look que opté por lucir: flores vs tachuelas, femenino vs masculino, romanticismo vs rock, color vs austeridad.

As I told you in the previous my style post, until further notice and until I have time to make a good session, I will make the most of my wardrobe and my photographic archive. ¡¡Buenas noches querid@s amig@s!!. Este mes está siendo de locos!. Un trabajo en ciernes y otro y en búsqueda y captura, mi despedida de Londres y mi vuelta a Madrid. Sentimientos encontrados: alegría vs tristeza vs alegría, búsqueda de casa (oooootra vez), llena cajas, vacía cajas, mil cosas por hacer y escasas horas para ello. ¡¡¡ Como me gusta el verano de San Martin !!!

Could it be possible to love more a summer that doesn´t want to leave?

¿Será este mi último look posteado con prendas veraniegas?. ¡¡Esto del cambio climático nos está volviendo locos a todos, incluso a mi armario!!. ¡¡jeje!!. Ya sé que estaréis deseando ver mis últimas adquisiciones de temporada, pero tengo varias sesiones preparadas en las que me propuse tirar de fondo de armario. Así que hasta nuevo aviso, old it is!:)

Will this be my last look with summery garments!. Climate change is driving us crazy!!. I know you may be willing to see my last purchases for this autumn/winter season, but sadly or happily for you and me, I´ve decided to make the most of my wardrobe. So, until further notice, old is my new adjective! :)

Para un paseo por el Soho Londinense decidí sacar las flores y las rayas a pasear. Otra vez vuelvo a la tendencia COLOR BLOCK (como ya hice aquí), pero llevada otra vez a mi terreno. A estas alturas de la "canción" ya sabéis que los estampados y la temática floral son lo mío. Así que para no traicionar a mi fidelidad hacia estos dos clásicos ya en mi armario, decidí combinar esta falda de inspiración campesina (una de mis mejores compras rebajiles) con este sencillo top de estilo vintage, y lo que en un principio era un collar de rosas, pero que yo opté por cambiar su uso y convertirlo en una diadema con delicados toques románticos. El bolso ya me lo habéis visto por aquí y las sandalias se conviertieron en el complemento perfecto para poner el broche final a mi look lady.

For a short walk along Soho, I decided to wear the combo flowers + stripes. It´s not the first time I resort to the COLOR BLOCK trend (as I already did here), but always bringing it to my side. By this stage, you must have realized that prints in general and the flower theme are my thing. So, in order no to betray my fidelity to these two classics in my closet, I chose to combine the peasant-like skirt with this simple vintage style top; and what at first was a lovely rose necklace, but I opted for a change in its use and turned it into a romantic headband. The bag isn´t new for you and the denim sandals added the perfect final touch to my ladylike look.

MY STYLE: FLOWERS & SPIKES FIELDS

¡¡Buenos días chicas!!. ¡Siento mi ausencia!. Me ha salido un pequeño trabajito que me está teniendo un tanto ocupada... ¡¡Pero ya estoy aquí!!. Esta última semana, el verano que nunca tuvimos en Londres cuando tocaba, ¡¡por fin apareció!!. ¡¡30 grados, nada más y nada menos, marcaban los termómetros!!. Increíble, pero cierto... Así que, para celebrarlo, decidí sacar mi blanco nuclear a pasear!!. Menos mal que aquí no desentono... jeje!. En fin, aproveché para estrenar esas prendas que se me habían quedado olvidadas en el armario y que tan alegremente deseaban salir: estos shorts con estampado de flores y bajo ondulado tan de moda este verano y el top de ganchillo cuyo aspecto artesanal y la frescura que transmite tanto me gustan. Good morning, girls!!. I´m very sorry for my absence!. Last week summer arrived London!. Quite late, ´cause we were expecting it in July and August, but never mind!!. Better late than never, isn´t it?. 30 º C showed the thermometers!. So, to celebrate this amazing moment, I decided to wear for the first time those garments I sadly left at the bottom of my closet: these cute scalloped flower printed shorts, so trendy this past season; and the crochet top with the handmade appearance and freshness that made me fall instantly in love with them. But undoubtedly, the main character of this look is this amazing bib necklace which reminds me to the great filelds full of yellowish spikes turning gold by the sun´s gentle caress.

Llevo toda la tarde buscando y rebuscando editoriales de moda que me enamoren de esta temporada otoñal que recién acaba de empezar y tristemente no he tenido la suerte que esperaba... Pero no desisto!!. A la segunda irá la vencida!! Por el momento tiro de archivo y os dejo con el precioso trabajo que ha realizado el fotógrafo Paul de Luna para la revista WestEast Magazine, donde el ángel caído Rasa Zukauskaite se viste bajo la dirección artística y estilística de Mindi Smith con una preciosa selección de prendas, entre las que podemos encontrar a Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Anna Sui, Bottega Veneta, Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Ferretti y muchos más... Etéreos vestidos tejidos con delicadeza y mimo, y utlizando los más suaves pigmentos de color que la naturaleza nos puede proporcionar...

I´ve been all evening looking for any beloving to be fashion editorials but sadly I didn´t have any luck! . But don´t worry, I haven´t desisted yet! Second time lucky!!. For the time being, my files are my solution, leaving you with Paul de Luna´s work for WestEast Magazine, where the fallen angel Rasa Zukauskaite gets dressed under Mindi Smith´s artistic and stylistic direction; with a beautiful garment selection. Seguramente muchos de vosotros ya habréis visto este lookbook rondando por diferentes blogs, revistas o similares. Pero aún así y aunque llegue tarde, no quería perder la oportunidad de mostrároslo y que quedase así reflejado en este pequeño diario que con tanto cariño escribo cada vez que puedo.

Probably, most of you will have already seen this RODARTE´s lookbook aw 2011 for Opening Ceremony prowling around different blogs, magazines or similars. But even so and although I may be late, I didn´t want to loose the opportunity of sharing this with all of you.

No es la primera colaboración que la firma de las hermanas Mulleavy lleva a cabo con Opening Ceremony, y espero que tampoco sea la última. Porque aunque mi presupuesto económico no me da para estos lujos, el visual sí. Así que soñemos todos con estos románticos trajes fotografiados por Autumn de Wilde y lucidos por las gemelas Gwen y Donna Loos. Pero atención chicos!!. Vosotros también tenéis vuestra parcelita en esta colección. Y que mejor que el guapo Stephan Haurholm para mostrárosla!!. La inspiración ha venido esta vez desde los países Escandinavos en forma de ondulantes vestidos de seda mezclados con toques de fruncidos, faldas de piel de cordero rayadas, camisas estampadas y tradicionales jerseys de tricot tipo Fair Isle. Neutras y suaves tonalidades como los pasteles rosa, verde menta y azul; pasando por otras más intensas como burdeos, ocres o turquesas; hasta llegar al color-no color, negro; envuelven primero y dominan después tanto los looks masculinos como los femeninos. Un maravilloso romance Nórdico!!.

This is not the first collaboration seen between these two brands, and hope too this isn´t the last one. Because even though my economic budget does not allow me these luxuries, the visual one does it. So lets everyone dream about these romantic dresses photographed by Autumn de Wilde and worn by the twins Gwen & Donna Loos. But attention, guys, because you also have your small space in this collection. So what would be better than to let the handsome Stephan Haurholn show it to us!!. Inspiration comes this time from Scandinavian countries in form of billowy silk dresses mixed with touches of ruffles, lambskin stripped leather skirts, printed shirting and Fair Isle-patterned knits. A soft palette of tones like pink blush, green mint and blue; passing through others more intense like burgundy, ochre or turquoise, till arriving to the color non-color, black; envelop first and dominate after both the men´s and women´s looks. Just a marvellous Nordic romance!!.

Buenos días a tod@s!! Siento mucho mi ausencia estos días, pero me he tomado una semanita de vacaciones en una cala mallorquina y conseguir internet se ha convertido en toda una odisea. El look que os presento esta semana es en respuesta a una iniciativa a la que muchos bloggers estamos muy agradecid@s. Un concurso organizado por dos "personalidades" presentes en mi vida diaria: La revista Harper´s Bazaar España, cuyos números mensuales copan mis estanterías y la firma de moda H&M, cuyas prendas hacen lo propio en mi "closet". Ellos elegirán a los cuatro bloggers con más estilo y que mejor sepan reflejar las tendencias de la temporada. Estas son mis elecciones: El tejido de encaje lady, la maxifalda de color ácido mezclada con prendas nude, el estampado 70´s y los accesorios en dorado que irradian luz y lujo en su estado más puro. ¡¡Suerte a tod@s!!.

Good morning to everybody!! I´m really sorry for my absence during these days, but I´ve taken one week of holidays in a small Majorcan cove and achieving internet has turned into an odyssey. This week´s look replies to an initiative to which lots of bloggers are very grateful. A fashion contest organized by two personalities present in my dairy life: Harper´s Bazaar Spain magazine, whose monthly numbers take my bookshelves and the fashion brand H&M whose clothes do the same in my closet. They will choose, among all the contestants, the four most stylish bloggers who better know how to represent this season´s fashion trends. MY STYLE: ABSTRACT DRESS

Terminamos el mes de Agosto, y para casi todos con él el verano, con uno de los últimos looks veraniegos de la temporada. En uno de los pocos días en los que el sol inglés decidió asomar su linda cabecita de entre las nubes (de hecho todos los looks que saqué son de la misma semana ;), el resto del més volvió a tornarse gris, frío y lluvioso...); aproveché para estrenar una de mis últimas compras rebajiles del invierno pasado (más vale tarde que nunca, no? hehe). Lo que más me gustó fue su estampado abstracto. Es como si el diseñador hubiese querido utilizar la prenda como lienzo para plasmar en ella una de sus obras pictóricas. Como si hubiese querido escribir un poema sobre la vida con el simple uso de la acuarela. Como si hubiese dejado escapar sus pensamientos a través de intensos brochazos de color...

We are sadly ending August and so, one of my last summer outfits. During one of the few days in which the English sun decided to come out from the grey and rainy clouds, I took advantage of the good weather and used for the first time one of my latest sale shoppings from last winter 2010 (better late that never, isn´t it?). What I loved the most of the dress was its abstract print. It´s as if the designer had wanted to use the garment as a canvas to give expression to one of his works of art. As if he had wanted to write a poem about life with the simple use of watercolors. As if he had let his thoughts escape through intense color brush strokes...

MY STYLE: CANDY COLOURS

Aunque el COLOR BLOCK no es una de mis tendencias favoritas esta temporada, no he podido resistirme a lucirla en uno de los pocos días en los que ha salido el sol en la "triste" ciudad de Londres. Pero eso sí, siempre llevándola a mi terreno. Para bien o para mal, soy cero minimalista. Así que el hecho de mantener un look a base de prendas lisas monocolor, no es lo mío. Necesito los estampados. Romper en cierta manera con lo establecido. Me gusta un look que destila energía y optimismo, pero desde mi prisma. Un prisma donde, en este caso, las flores tienen cabida. Flores silvestres acompañadas de delicados encajes... ¡¡Un jardín en technicolor!!.

Despite COLOUR BLOCK isn´t one of my favourite trends this season, I haven´t been able to escape from it and I´ve worn it during one of the few days in which London´s sun has decided to raise. But, of course, always bringing it to my side. For better or worse, I´m zero minimalist. So the fact of maintaining a look combining one-color plain garments, is not my thing. I definitely need prints. Break in some way with the established. I love styles that exude energy and optimism, but from my perspective. One where,as shown, flowers have there own place. Wild flowers paired with delicate laces... A technicolor garden!!.

Buenos días a todos!! Antes de embarcarme en varios cursos de verano en la Central Saint Martins (me estoy muriendo de la ilusión y los nervios...), os dejo con mi último descubrimiento en materia de ilustración. Ya sabéis que me encanta compartir con tod@s vosotr@s este tipo de cosas, así que esta vez no iba a ser menos. Os presento a CAMILA DO ROSÁRIO. Ella es una joven brasileña de tan solo 21 años (quien los pillara... jeje) estudiante de diseño de moda, cuya obra destila delicadeza y fuerza de manera armoniosa y a partes iguales. Su trabajo realizado mediante técnicas mixtas impacta por su llamativa combinación cromática y el magnetismo de sus imágenes. Podemos encontrar así, entre su obra, piezas de arte realizadas en su cuaderno de notas Moleskine, detallados dibujos realizados a mano mediante lápiz y acuarela o collages digitales. Tal y como ella misma dice, todo a su alrededor le inspira. Desde las emociones que le provoca una canción, hasta los colores de los edificios...

Good morning to everybody!! Before embarking myself on several courses at Central Saint Martins (I´m sooooo excited, yet nervous...), I leave you with my latest illustration discovery. You know how much I love sharing with you all these things!!. So I introduce you to CAMILA DO ROSÁRIO. She is a 21 years old Brazilian girl and fashion design student, whose work of art exudes delicacy and strength in a harmonious way. Her mixed-media works impress with the bright colour scheme and the magnetizing images. We can find among her portfolio the Moleskine pieces of art, hand drawings and digital collages. As she relates, everything surrounding her inspires her work. From the emotions which bring her a song till the colours of the buildings...

MY STYLE: PREPPY LOOK

Por desgracia parece que el cambio climático nos está jugando una mala pasada y el invierno vuelve a asomar la cabecita por Londres. Eso significa que fuera ropa veraniega, tejidos ligeros y colores alegres. Toca volver a sacar del armario la lana, los cuadros escoceses y los colores apagados. Sin olvidarnos de las botas de agua, accesorio "it" en toda regla en una ciudad como ésta. Así que, que mejor momento que este para estrenar mi mejor compra rebajil de la temporada pasada: esta chaqueta de cuadros, con original volante delantero de la colección invernal de Hakei. Una prenda que pone la guinda perfecta al LOOK PREPPY, un estilo clásico, pulcro y con toques deportivos que tiene su origen en la forma de vestir de los alumnos de élite de las escuelas norteamericanas y británicas, y que tan de moda estuvo a finales de los años 70 y principios de los 80. Pero como todo vuelve en moda; prendas como blazers entalladas, vestidos camiseros, faldas retro o de tipo escocés, camisas tipo oxford, zapatos acordonados, naúticos o bailarinas... serán las que, una vez actualizadas, nos hagan las delicicias de unos pocos, o muchos, quizá.

Unfortunately, seems that climate change is playing a dirty trick on us and winter is coming back to London. That means bye bye summer clothes, light fabrics and bright colours; and sadly welcome back to rough fabrics, Scottish tartan and muted colours. Without forgetting the rain boots, full-fledge "it" accesory in a city like this. So, what a better moment than this one to wear for the first time my best sale purchase from last season: this checked jacket, with an original frill at the front from Hakei´s winter collection. A piece of clothing which puts the perfect finishing touch to the PREPPY LOOK. A classic, neat and sporty style which has its origins in the way of dressing of the British and North American schools´elite students; and that was in fashion during the late 70´s and beginning of 80´s. But as every trend comes back again, garments such as fitted blazers, shirtwaists, retro skirts, Oxford shirts, masculine brogues, nautical shoes o ballerine flats... they will be the ones to, once updated, delight a few of us... or maybe most of us...

FASHION DESIGNERS: ORLA KIELY, A LIFE MADE PRINT

Para quien no la conozca, ORLA KIELY es una diseñadora textil irlandesa, afincada en Londres y artífice de los looks más retro y coloristas del panorama fashion. Sus colecciones abarcan desde productos para el hogar hasta papeles pintados, pasando por libros que recogen sus mil y un estampados, perfumes y una amplia colección de ropa y accesorios. Sus diseños conjugan a la perfección color, estampados gráficos y texturas, demostrando así su espíritu optimista y su inconfundible atmósfera retro. Los años 60 y 70, y los motivos vegetales son su leitmotiv. Este verano nos presenta una colección muy femenina y delicada, compuesta en su mayoría por románticos vestidos y tops en suaves tonalidades, pero siempre con alguna concesión al color: azul marino, nude y negro para un estilo sofisticado; y naranja, mostaza y verde para un estilo fresco. To whom may not know her, ORLA KIELY is an Irish textil designer, settled in London and author of the most retro and colorful outfits of the fashion scene. Her collections cover from home deco products to painted papers, going through books that bring together her thousand and one prints, perfumes and a huge collection of clothes and accesories. Her designs combine perfectly colour, graphic prints and textures, demonstrating like that her optimistic spirit and her distinct retro atmosphere. 60´s and 70´s decades, plus plant motifs are her leit motif. This summer she has presented us a very femenine yet delicate collection, composed mostly by romantic dresses and flirty tops in soft shades, but always with some concession to colour: navy blue, nude and black for a sophisticated style; and orange, mustard and green for a more fresh one. Vibrant monochromatic looks or bright vintage patterns. The decision is yours!!.

IRIS APFEL o RARE BIRD OF FASHION, como muchos la conocen, es todo un icono de moda hoy en día, además de mujer de negocios (lanzó a comienzos de los años 50, junto a su marido, una firma textil llamada "Old World Weavers" especializada en tejer exactas reproducciones de telas antiguas) y diseñadora de interiores (Entre sus clientes podíamos encontrar desde Greta Garbo o Estée Lauder, hasta la Casa Blanca). Su gusto por los viajes y por coleccionar objetos, tejidos y prendas compradas en los lugares más recónditos del globo terráqueo, han hecho de ella toda una institución de la moda, tanto por su eclecticismo en el vestir como por su individualidad. Algo difícil de conseguir hoy en día...

IRIS APFEL or RARE BIRD OF FASHION, as she is well-known, is a whole fashion icon today, as well as a business woman (she launched with her husband,in the early ´50´s, a textile company named "Old World Weavers" spezialised in weaving exact reproductions of antique-period fabric) and an interior designer (Her clients were, among others, Greta Garbo, Estée Lauder or The White House). Her taste for journeys and collecting objects, fabrics and garments bought at the most hidden places from all over the world, have made her a fashion institution, not only for her eclecticism in dressing, but also for her individuality. Something really difficult to achieve nowadays...

En 2005 el Metropolitan Museum Of Art de Nueva York le dedicó una exhibición gracias a su estilo fashionista, denominada "Rara Avis: The Irreverent Iris Apfel". Tuvo tanto éxito que la exposición se convirtió en itinerante y estuvo recorriendo diferentes museos de Estados Unidos. Que pena que no llegase hasta aquí!!.

In 2005, Apfel´s highly original personal style will be celebrated in an exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York named "Rara Avis: The Irreverent Iris Apfel". It was such a success that the exposition became itinerant travelling along different museums in USA. What a shame it didn´t arrive here!!.

Apfel ha sido una mujer adelantada a su tiempo y una influyente pionera en el mundo de la moda mezclando fabulosas prendas de Alta Costura con hallazgos comprados en mercadillos, mucho antes de que fuese considerado fashion. Crea ricas combinaciones de capas de colores, tejidos y estampados, mostrando así su destacado estilo. Tal y como ella mismo dice, el vestir arreglado o con ropa informal debería considerarse una experiencia creativa, excitante y divertida. Y su clave para conseguir un estilo personal radica en los accesorios: uno puede cambiar por completo el aspecto de un conjunto de ropa simplemente sustituyendo un accesorio por otro diferente. Apfel adora los objetos de diferentes lugares del mundo y diferentes eras, combinados a su manera, nunca convencional, pero sí alcanzando una especie de look "tirado" chic. Piezas, en su mayoría joyas falsas de plástico o grandes joyas étnicas, que ha ido encontrando a lo largo de su vida en Greenwich Village, en los mercados de las calles de Londres, el Sablon en Bruselas, el Mercado de las Pulgas en París, en los bazares y zocos de Estambul, Túnez, El Cairo y Marrakesh... El estilo eterno e intemporal es lo que ella ama y consigue, el desarrollo de su propio estilo, único e individual, gracias a las mezclas de prendas que acaba de comprar con otras que ha acumulado durante más de 30 años. No sigue las tendencias ni la última moda, sino que compra lo que le gusta. Ama tanto lo étnico como lo contemporáneo. Le gusta la seriedad, pero también lo divertido, intentando hacer que todas esas cosas funcionen bien juntas. Entre sus diseñadores favoritos se encuentran nombres como Ralph Rucci, Gianfranco Ferré, Geoffrey Beene, Galanos y Norell. Todos forman parte de una bonita tradición de costura. Iris adora las prendas que aparentamente parecen sencillas, pero que en realidad son muy complejas y arquitectónicas. Prendas que a veces son más bonitas e impresionantes por dentro que por fuera. Pero también le gusta la ropa divertida, llena de gran estilo y humor de Moschino, Gaultier, Dolce & Gabbana y Krizia. Podría seguir hablando largo y tendido de esta maravillosa mujer, pero voy a dejar que sea su excéntrico y peculiar guardarropa y casa las que lo hagan por mí!.

Iris Apfel is a woman who has always been ahead of her time and an influential pioneer in the world of fashion as well, boldly linking high- and low-end and melding flea market finds with Haute Couture long before doing so was considered fashionable. Her richly layered combinations of colours, textures and patterns show her remarkable panache. As she says, dressing up or down should be a creative experience. Exciting. Fun. Hola queridos lectores!! Vuelvo a la carga!! jeje!! He aprovechado este fin de semana para acudir a uno de los lugares más en boga de estos momentos: el gran MUSEO CRISTOBAL BALENCIAGA; el cual, tras un largo periodo de más de10 años y una gran cantidad de dinero desembolsado (más de 30 millones de Euros¡¡¡¡!!!! (sí, lo sé, poned el grito en el cielo!!), por fin ha abierto sus puertas al gran público. La inauguración; a la que acudió la crême de la crême del mundo de la cultura, sociedad y política españoles, como la Reina Doña Sofía, Nati Abascal, Carla Royo-Villanova, Beatrice d´Orleans o diseñadores como Amaya Arzuaga, Miriam Ocáriz, los hermanos Ailanto, Joaquín Trías, el duo de Alvarno, Fernando Lemoniez o Juan Duyos, entre otros, además del diseñador francés Hubert de Givenchy (presidente fundador de la Fundación Cristobal Balenciaga, además de discípulo y amigo del diseñador vasco) o la gran Suzy Menkes (gurú de la moda y crítica en el International Herald Tribune); tuvo lugar el 7 de Junio. El escenario: un edificio diseñado por AV62 Arquitectos anexo al histórico Palacio Aldamar del Siglo XIX. Tradición versus modernidad. Una constante que se ve también reflejada en la obra de Balenciaga, considerado como uno de los más destacados e influyentes modistos del Siglo XX. Un genio que revolucionó la concepción del vestir y del propio cuerpo de la mujer. Perfeccionista incansable, adquirió un dominio absoluto de las técnicas de costura y dedicó su vida a depurar la construcción de sus creaciones, introduciendo extraordinarias innovaciones que le permitieron evolucionar hacia una mayor simplicidad y pureza de formas, creando diseños limpios, depurados y elegantes. Unos diseños, que podremos ver y admirar en el interior del museo, consistentes en más de 90 piezas distribuidas en 6 salas temáticas: Comienzos, Día, Cocktail, Noche, Novias y Esencial.

I´ve taken the advantage of being this weekend in San Sebastian and I´ve gone to one of the trendiest places these days: The great CRISTOBAL BALENCIAGA MUSEUM; which after a long period of time (10 years!!) and a great ammount of money spent (more than 30 million of Euros!!!!!! Yeah, you can hit the ceiling!!), has opened its doors. The inauguration day; where the cream of the crop of the Spanish society, culture and politics attended: the Spanish Queen Sophia, Nati Abascal, Carla Royo-Villanova, Beatrice d´Orleans; fashion designers such as Amaya Arzuaga, Miriam Ocáriz, Ailanto, Joaquín Trías, Alvarno, Fernando Lemoniez or Juan Duyos, among others; as well as French designer Hubert de Givenchy (The Cristobal Balenciaga Foundation´s founder president, besides the basque designer´s disciple and friend) or the great Suzy Menkes (fashion guru and critic for The International Herald Tribune); took place the 7th of June. The scenario: a huge building designed by AV62 Architects annex to the historical Palacio Aldamar from the 19th century. Tradition versus modernity. A constant feature during the designer´s career. Balenciaga is considered one of the most prominent and influential couturiers of the 20th century. A genius who revolutionized the dressing conception and the woman´s body. A tireless perfectionist, he had a full command of couture techniques and dedicated his life to refining the construction of his designs, introducing extraordinary innovations that allowed him to evolve towards greater simplicity and purity of form, being able to create clean, polished and elegant designs, which we will manage to see and admire inside the museum, consisting in more than 90 pieces, arranged in 6 thematic exhibition halls: Beginnings, Day, Cocktail, Night, Bride and Essential.

VOGUE UK APRIL 2011: THE RIGHT LINES BY TIM WALKER

TIM WALKER, uno de mis fotógrafos de cabecera, es el creador de esta maravillosa editorial con tintes surrealistas y mágicos toques; donde los coloridos trajes de la mano de Prada, Jil Sander, Marc by Marc Jacobs o Vivienne Westwood, entre otros, son los protagonistas; y uno de los grandes estampados del verano, las RAYAS, sus aliados. Este estampado gráfico tan simple, pero tan complejo en realidad, encierra en su interior una gran fuerza que solo un genio como él podía traspasar.

TIM WALKER, one of my top photographers, is the creative behind this wonderful fashion editorial with slight touches of surrelism and magic, where colorful dresses from Prada, Jil Sander, Marc by Marc Jacobs or Vivienne Westwood, among others, are the main protagonists; and one of the greatest prints of the summer, STRIPES, their allies. This graphic print, so simple but so complex in reality, involves such a great strength that only a genius as him could pierce.

MY STYLE: FLORAL 50'S

Hola a todos!! Siento mucho mi ausencia, pero mi ordenador ha pasado a mejor vida y postear está siendo un tanto complicado. He rescatado para vosotr@s uno de los looks primaverales que lucí en la graduación de mi primo. Símbolo de feminidad, belleza y delicadeza, las FLORES son toda una oda a la naturaleza y a la conciencia ECO. Para tal evento decidí lucir este sencillo y colorido vestido con el estampado estrella de la temporada, realizado en hilo fino de algodón, con cuello de crochet crudo, original de los años 50 y procedente de una de mis tiendas vintage favoritas de Madrid: CORACHAN Y DELGADO. Dos tendencias aunadas en una misma prenda. Por un lado, tenemos los TONOS NEON, atrevidos bloques de color, cuyo objetivo es ejercer de antídoto ante los aburridos blancos, negros y marrones de la temporada invernal, alegrarnos los días y llenarnos de luz las noches.Tonalidades vibrantes para ser vestidas y lucidas con frescura e intensidad. Y, por otro lado, tenemos las FLORES, mi estampado favorito para quien no se haya dado cuenta... jeje; y la expresión perfecta del romanticismo moderno. La mejor manera de dar un paseo por la campiña inglesa sin desentonar con el entorno. ¿Qué opináis?

Hi everybody!! I'm really sorry for my absence, but my computer has recently passed away, and it´s been quite difficult for me to post. I hope you can forgive me!. I've rescued for you one of my spring looks which I wore during my cousin´s graduation. It was an important day, so my look had to be harmonious. Symbol of beauty, fragility and delicacy, FLOWERS are a whole ode to nature and ECO conscience. For such an event I chose this plain and colourful cotton dress with the starring print of the season with natural crochet collar, original from the 50´s from one of my favourite vintage shops in Madrid: CORACHAN Y DELGADO. Two trends joined toguether for one same garment. One one hand we´ve got NEON HUES, bold color blocks whose main purpose is exerting as antidote in view of the winter season´s boring whites, blacks and browns, cheering us up the long days, and fullfilling the night with light. Vibrant shades to be dreesed with freshness and intensity. And, on the other hand, we have the FLOWERS, my loving print and the perfect expression to modern romanticism. The best way of going for a walk though the English countryside without clashing with the surroundings. What do you think?.
