SATURDAY INSPIRATION: DELICATE TATTOOS

I´ve always fancied tattoos, but have never dared to do it... I´m not sure why. Maybe it´s because I´m too classic or just that I haven´t found the right one..., maybe it´s because they are too controversial or just that they aren´t made for me..., maybe my moment has finally arrived or sadly gone away..., maybe it has just been a dream or it may someday become true...

MY STYLE: SPRINGTIME HAS ARRIVED...

. ¿Contradictorio?. Puede, pero es lo que hay...

Hi!!. Did you miss me a bit?. I´m back with a whole new look. From time to time, springtime shows its best days and gives a glimpse of bright colors and pastel hues, less coat layers and lighter fabrics. But this is a period of doubts. Is it cold or sunny?, should I wear a thick short coat or a thin trench coat?, a corduroy blazer or a cotton one?, a wool sweater or a light knitted one?, a cashmere scarf or a silken one?, lace-up shoes or sandals?, and so on... But, personally, I´m more into extremes. I prefer the hottest summer or the coldest winter. And I think my wardrobe feels the same way. And my health. Because it´s always in these seasons when I catch all the colds... But even so, I fancy this period of transition, because it means that it´s not long till my favorite seasons arrive. Is it contradictory?. Maybe, but that´s the way I am...

MARY KATRANTZOU & ERIK MADIGAN HECK: DECORATIVE REFLECTIONS II

This isn´t the first time I´ve mentioned these artists in the blog and I´m sure won´t be the last one either. When I first observed their works, she was the one who managed to dazzle me with her amazing dresses, but as time went on and my look developed, he managed to captivate me too. Fashion & Art / Art & Fashion: an indissoluble couple in many cases and questionable in others. Mary Katrantzou, a Greek fashion designer settled in London and well-known for her "home-deco" prints, has collaborated for the third time with the young photographer Erik Madigan Heck, founder and creative director of Nomenus Quaterly magazine (FYI, you can buy it by paying the "small" amount of $6,500...). The final result: three photography series based on Mary´s collections and surrealism, a cultural movement that began in France in the early 20´s and developed out of the Dada activities during World War I. I already showed you last year the first serie they collaborated with named "Surreal Plane" (you can remember it just clicking here) and today I´ll try to delight you with their two last series: "The Surrealist Ideal" and "Florals"

Serie 2: "The Surrealist Ideal"

Serie 3: "Florals"

MY STYLE: SHERLOCK HOLMES´ CAPE

Hi guys!!. After spending my holidays in Mallorca, Spain with hardly no internet, I´m glad to come back and begin my blogging routine again. Even though I was hoping to arrive at a sunny Madrid, weather is quite freezing, so my new spring purchases will have to wait a bit until better days appear. I bought this cape lots of years ago, it was sort of love at first sight. It´s like Sherlock Holmes´s feminine version. It´s very special for me. The delicate and colorful embroidery, the British fabric, the naïf print from the lining, the shape... everything. Paul & Joe was one of the first French streetwear fashion brands I got to know long time ago and I must say I´ve been since then devoted to it. Of course, whenever my economy has let me or the best mother worldwide has given me as a present! hehe!. And what coul I say about the Etro shoes?. I could say they´ve been the pioneers of my "small" masculine-style brogues collection. I think they might be 10 years old, so better not make too many estimations about the whole number of members of my collection... ´cause that could scare me... hehe!.

And what about you, do you have any special item in your closets that without taking any notice has become part of a bigger collection?
